Lyburn Farm Stoney Cross awards
Heath Associates were commissioned to develop the livery for Stoney Cross, the new hard cheese from Lyburn Farmhouse Cheesemakers. The cheese comes as a 1.3kg truckle or a 3kg wheel, mould ripened, not dissimilar to a French Tomme De Savoie. Creamy in texture, sweet flavours, with a distinctly earthy finish. This cheese has already earned a Bronze medal at the British Cheese Awards despite its relative infancy.
Stoney Cross started in 2009, with a second at the Great Yorkshire Show, and won the Gold at Nantwich. To finish the 2009 season, Stoney Cross won a a Bronze at the British and a silver at the World Cheese Awards.
The brand name Stoney Cross comes from an old World War II airfield two miles to the South of the farm in the New Forest. |
